Job Description
As the Department Chair, you will have comprehensive support from a dedicated Service Line and system resources, enabling you to lead effectively in a high-acuity, high-volume environment. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for aligning department operations with Advocate Health’s system goals, culture, and values.
 
Position highlights
  • Lead and manage the Emergency Medicine Department at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
  • Collaborate closely with the service line team to ensure departmental alignment with broader system objectives.
  • Work alongside residency program leaders, primary care, and other specialties to enhance collaboration and patient care.
  • Engage and inspire your team, shaping the next generation of Emergency Medicine Physicians.
  • Tertiary Care, Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Clinical Hours: 776 hours per year
  • Dedicated Academic Hours
  • Residency Program: 3-year Emergency Medicine program with 14 residents annually
  • Specialized Care: Advanced Cardiac/Stroke care, LVAD/Transplant programs, High Acuity cases
  • Patient Volume: 108,000 annual visits + 38,000 pediatric visits
  • Dedicated Pediatric Emergency Medicine Team
  • Required Certification: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (EM) 
  • Strong Graduate Medical Education (GME) Presence:
  • 9 residency programs onsite
  • 4 fellowship programs onsite
  • Compensation $346,593-$346,593
  • Annual Stipend $100,000 
  • Extra hourly shift compensation for any shifts above FTE

Training and/or experience required 
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a medium to large Emergency Medicine Department.
  • Strong knowledge of Emergency Medicine operations and academic program experience.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity and drive improvements in patient care and departmental operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
