- Full-time, experienced Transplant Surgeon to be a primary liver Transplant Surgeon
- The Transplant Program is based at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, a 938-bed quaternary facility in Milwaukee
- The St. Luke’s Transplant Program received UNOS approval in 1998 and has a history of excellent outcomes for our patients
- Our integrated program includes both the successful multi-organ Transplant Program based at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and our longstanding Kidney Transplant Program at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois; both are part of the two state Abdominal Transplant Service Line
- Our experienced transplant surgeons perform kidney, pancreas and liver transplantation, living kidney donation, as well as complex hepatobiliary surgery
- As a primary liver Transplant Surgeon, you will work alongside two full-time Transplant Surgeons and will serve as an inclusive, equitable and accountable role model for our abdominal Transplant Program, providing medical expertise and expert patient management to maintain our exceptional outcomes
- As part of the transplant surgery team, you will also be actively involved in all aspects of the program, including kidney and pancreas transplantation, and pre and post operative management of transplant patients
- Cohesive team of transplant specialists includes a comprehensive support staff with APCs, RNs, and MAs, dedicated transplant Hepatologists, Nephrologists, Anesthesia, ICU and Infectious Disease specialists
- Our Liver Program is modest in size and boasts excellent quality outcomes; our current 1-year liver graft survival rate is 100%
- Our Kidney Program has consistently been rated 4 out of 5, placing it among the top in outcomes for kidney transplants in the nation; kidney graft survival rate is 98% and our kidney program had a 100% 1-year patient survival rate for five consecutive years
- To-date, our heart surgeons have performed over 1000 heart transplants, with our abdominal transplant surgeons performing over 850 kidney transplants, and over 550 liver transplants

- Base salary range: $558,564 - $558,564

Training and/or experience required
- Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program and ASTS-approved fellowship program in solid organ transplantation
- Board certified with a minimum of 7 – 10 years of transplant experience
- Candidates must meet the OPTN/UNOS Certification for primary liver transplant surgeon and must be actively performing liver transplants in their current position
- Excellent team-building, collaboration, and verbal and written communication skills are also required
